With over a decade of experience in hospitality, fashion, and marketing, I bring a unique blend of creativity and user-focused design to my role as a product designer.
My journey started in the world of high-end restaurants, working with world-renowned chefs and creating memorable experiences for guests. In 2016, interested in creating a dining experience from my Vietnamese upbringing, I collaborated with a friend and fellow Momofuku alum to produce a Vietnamese pop-up series called Yoi-Kwa. To our surprise, the first event drew a line out the door, and for each subsequent event, we consistently sold out, serving over 80 guests each time.
Around this time, I merged my background in fashion and hospitality by starting my small business, CAMCAM, designing custom workwear for restaurants. I was able to express my deep appreciation for form & function through design for restaurant workers, which was deeply satisfying.
My creative path then led me to freelance in film where I worked as a costumer for indie films and commercials bringing the writers' visions to life in the characters' wardrobes. A marketing role at a small business followed, where I managed marketing campaigns and updated their website. It was here that I discovered my passion for designing user experiences.
Today, I leverage my diverse background to create products that are visually compelling and deeply satisfying. My unconventional journey has equipped me with a rich perspective and a profound interest in designing with empathy, curiosity, and creativity.
